Privacy Notice

This notice explains how whimseek handles information in its United States and Canada job-search pilot.

Effective and last updated: August 2026

Information we handle

We process account information, including the name you ask whimseek to use, verified email, sign-in and security records, country code collected at first authenticated access, pilot or waitlist status, preferences, consent choices, and unsubscribe history. Your workspace may contain onboarding goals, self-reported source for how you heard about whimseek, job-search preferences, drafts, saved companies and jobs, professional contacts, notes, tasks, source links, and related dates that you choose to provide or save. Optional surveys may store a score and the action or feature rated without storing message or clipboard contents; beta feedback stores bounded use data and a score, not feature inputs or outputs.

If you request closed-pilot access, we process your contact information, work situation, role direction, country, timing, stated needs, and the feedback you choose to share. This request does not create an account or grant access automatically.

When you request research, recommendations, drafting, resume or professional-profile help, or image creation, we process the inputs needed to complete that request. Uploaded files and raw document text are not retained after processing. Search results are retained in your workspace for up to one year so you can revisit work included with your plan. Do not provide government identifiers, financial or health data, account credentials, or sensitive nonpublic information about another person.

If you use voice interview practice, we process your recording to create a transcript. We do not retain the raw recording after processing. The interview questions, transcript, and feedback are saved in your workspace so you can return to your practice.

If you buy or receive paid access, we process plan, transaction, invoice, gift, referral, dispute, and usage information needed to provide it and prevent abuse. The payment processor handles payment-method details; whimseek does not receive or store complete card details.

How we use information

We use information to authenticate users, provide and personalize the workspace, complete requested work, process payments and referrals, understand product use and acquisition when permitted, secure and troubleshoot the service, respond to requests, and comply with law. We do not sell personal information or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Cookies and analytics

Essential first-party cookies support sign-in, security, referrals, and saved choices. A choice cookie remembers for up to 180 days whether optional analytics is allowed. Optional analytics remains off when you choose essential cookies only, and you can change or withdraw your choice through Cookie settings. Referral links may set a first-party attribution cookie for up to 30 days; it cannot authenticate you.

With permission, a restricted visitor log may record request time, IP address, broad country, page path, response status and timing, referrer hostname, and campaign information. It excludes query strings, credentials, request bodies, sign-in callbacks, private workspace content, and complete browser-identifying strings, and expires after 30 days.

Optional product analytics may record a pseudonymous account and session identifier, event type and time, broad feature context, and aggregate result counts. It excludes email, raw IP address, exact location, uploaded files or their contents, recordings, contact details, messages, clipboard contents, and arbitrary page content. whimseek cannot see where you paste text. Event-level records expire after 400 days.

When you choose optional product and pilot updates, those marketing emails may include unique, opaque image and redirect links so we can record whether the message was opened or a campaign link was selected. The links do not contain your email address or message content. We use this only for aggregate campaign open- and click-rate reporting; account, security, payment, and other transactional emails are not tracked.

Security and support

We use privacy-minimized network, country, language, browser, and device signals to protect accounts and investigate abuse. The account-security record does not retain a raw IP address, complete browser string, or network-provider name; its rolling observation expires 90 days after last use. A removed access block and its related record expire after 30 days.

Support and pilot-feedback requests may include your email, request type, description, relevant page, and limited anti-abuse information. Feedback is copied to a restricted review record, and an automated comparison may flag possible duplicates for human review; it does not discard submissions. These contents are not used for product analytics.

Service providers and disclosure

Service providers support secure sign-in, hosting and network protection, storage, payments, email, public information retrieval, and user-requested automated features. They receive only the information needed for that purpose and may process it in the United States or other places where they operate. We may also disclose information when legally required or reasonably necessary to protect users or the service.

Retention and your choices

We retain workspace information while your account is active or as needed to provide and secure the service. Pilot access requests expire after up to 12 months unless you ask us to delete them sooner. You may request access, correction, export, or deletion, or withdraw optional analytics and email consent, through the whimseek help form. We may retain limited security, legal, payment, dispute, consent, and suppression records when necessary, and deleted information may remain temporarily in protected backups. A legal preservation requirement may delay deletion only for the affected records and required period.

Security, changes, and contact

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the service and information handled, but no transmission or storage method is completely secure. We will present material changes for acceptance. Questions and requests may be sent through the whimseek help form.

Build the network around your next move.
