Security & privacy FAQ
A plain-language overview of how whimseek handles the work you choose to bring into your career workspace.
Does whimseek log in to LinkedIn or act as me?
No. whimseek never asks for your LinkedIn password, signs in to LinkedIn, searches on LinkedIn for you, or sends messages for you. It helps you plan a search and draft a message; you choose the channel and take every external action yourself.
Who can see my workspace?
Your saved career work is tied to your signed-in account. whimseek does not offer public workspace links, and a link to a path is not permission to view it. You decide what to save, revise, copy, and send.
Is all of my data encrypted at rest?
Not yet. whimseek encrypts selected processing records and recovery backups, but it does not currently make an app-wide promise that every item saved in a workspace is individually encrypted at rest. Those records are protected by account-based access controls, and broader at-rest protection is an active security improvement rather than a claim we make today.
What information does whimseek avoid retaining?
whimseek does not store resume files, job-description files, LinkedIn-profile PDFs, or raw resume text. Your browser may retain those PDFs locally through the current day so you can reuse them in the workspace. whimseek does not retain LinkedIn credentials, payment-card details, or sent-message content. Optional product analytics is kept separate from the career work you save.
What makes this approach different?
whimseek is built around preparation. By keeping account credentials and external sending actions in your hands, it reduces the sensitive access a career tool needs in order to help.
Where can I find the formal privacy notice?
The Privacy Notice explains the information we handle, how long we retain it, and how to request access, correction, export, or deletion.
